Bartın River Sparks Panic with Changing Color and Foaming

The recent heavy rainfall in Bartın has led to an increase in the flow rate of the Bartın River by 1-2 meters. According to Bartın Mayor Muhammet Rıza Yalçınkaya, over 250 kilograms of rain fell per square meter since yesterday evening, causing the river to rise. This has resulted in foaming in the Çağlayan region, a common occurrence after heavy rainfall.
Mayor Yalçınkaya expressed his concerns about the pollution of the river due to the increased flow rate. While the municipality does not have the authority to take direct action, they have informed the Environment and Urbanization Directorate about the situation. The mayor emphasized the importance of addressing the pollution of the river for the well-being of the environment and the local community.
The residents of Bartın are urged to be cautious during this time of increased flow rate and to take steps to prevent further pollution of the river. It is essential for both officials and citizens to work together to protect the natural resources of Bartın for future generations.
