
Bartók Spring Festival’s Programme Announced

The Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks programme has been announced, featuring a variety of performances and events for arts enthusiasts to enjoy.
Scheduled to take place between April 4 and May 18 in Budapest, Miskolc, Pécs and Győr, the festival will showcase talented artists such as Arooj Aftab’s jazz trio and María Pagés performing De Sheherezade.
In addition to musical performances, the festival will also include appearances by operatic superstars Diana Damrau and Jonas Kaufmann, as well as the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Basel Kammerorkester. Jan Garbarek and Wynton Marsalis are also set to take the stage during the event.
One of the highlights will be an interdisciplinary performance focusing on Bartók’s Microcosmos, featuring the folk dance group of the Corvinus University, the Forte theater group, and students of the University of Film and Theater Arts. Hungarian singer Magdi Rúzsa and pianist János Balázs will also perform at MÜPA on April 12.
Alongside the music performances, the festival will also include film screenings, theatre performances, and exhibitions. Budapest Ritmo, which is considered one of the most important events for world music in the region, will be held on the sidelines of Bartók Spring between April 10 and 12.
With such a diverse and exciting lineup of events, the Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks promises to be a must-visit cultural experience for art lovers in Hungary and beyond.
