A meeting was held at the Ministry of National Education regarding the new Famagusta Turkish Marif College.
Ruşen Karakaya, President of the Association for the Survival of Champion Angels, said that they made this visit together with the Cyprus Turkish Engineer and Architect Chambers in order to talk about the steps of the school project, which is one of the projects they determined to keep the name of the Champion Angels alive.
Tunç Adanır, President of the Union of Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects, emphasized that they will continue to support families and walk with them on all kinds of platforms as of February 6th.
Stating that they will give their support to all projects to be realized, Adanır said that this is their social responsibility and that they will work on a voluntary basis.
Noting that they will determine the roadmap by taking the requests of the ministry and the association in the first meeting they will hold about a new school project, Adanır said that they are planning a technologically equipped school.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu also said that it is difficult and responsible to be with the people who are most closely experiencing the sadness reflected in the country as a result of the trauma experienced on 6 February.
Çavuşoğlu stated that many efforts were made to keep the memories of the angels alive with the association established after the families came together after the disaster, and noted that everyone was mobilized for the construction of an exemplary Famagusta Turkish Maarif College building.
Çavuşoğlu stated that a piece of land in the use of Famagusta Municipality was allocated to the ministry for the new Famagusta Turkish Maarif College building, and that the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Engineers and Architects made recommendations for the best use of the land and the production of the most beautiful project.
Stating that he is in constant contact with the officials of the Champion Angels Survival Association, Çavuşoğlu noted that they have meetings both individually and institutionally within this framework.
Minister Çavuşoğlu said that they had gathered to evaluate the stage reached and to plan the steps to be taken from now on.
