A working meeting was held today between the chairmen and delegations of the Turkey – Azerbaijan – TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The meeting was held in the Republic Assembly Zalihe Çavuşoğlu Hall.

At the meeting; Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic, TRNC – Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Zorlu Töre, Azerbaijan – Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Cavanşir Feyziyev, Turkey – Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Şamil Ayrım, Turkey – TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Orhan Erdem, Azerbaijan – Turkey Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Ehliman Emiraslanov and his accompanying delegations, TRNC-TR Friendship Group Chairman and members of the delegation were present.

Zorlu Töre, the President of the Assembly of the Republic and the Chairman of the TRNC-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, who took the first floor before the meeting, said that they will evaluate the issues of “what we can do, what we should have, what path should be followed, what we are missing and what should be done” at the meeting.

Noting that there will be more mutual meetings, Töre noted that they united hearts.

Stating that they are conscious of being a member of the Turkish nation, Töre said, “We must do something for our nation, our geography, our state and the people of the Turkish states.”

Stating that they used the phrase “3 states, one nation” and that they will be like souls in one body, Töre said, “We no longer have any differences or differences. “We will be like blood circulating in our veins,” he said.

TRNC – TR Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairperson Resimye Eroğlu Canaltay also expressed her satisfaction with the friendship group being located in TRNC.

Canaltay said that there was a lot of effort in organizing today’s meeting and expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported them.

“The support that Azerbaijan gives us is very important.” Canaltay said, and included the following statements:

“We always had the dream of ‘3 states, one nation’. Today we took a step to achieve this. “We wish to contribute to the country’s economy by making many agreements with brother Azerbaijan in the fields of education, tourism, industry and trade, and at the same time to introduce some of the beauties of the TRNC in Azerbaijan.”

Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Ehliman Emiraslanov said, “We have only one family. “And that is the Turkish world.” said.

Stating that the friendship groups will continue their activities and should be developed, Emiraslanov noted that the meeting in question and the meetings to be held in the future are important.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group, Cavanşir Feyziyev, said that the meetings they held today are very important.

Drawing attention to the importance of economic relations, Feyziyev emphasized that increasing mutual capital investments is very important.

Noting that they see a beginning today, Feyziyev stated that they will intensify their contacts.

Feyziyev said that they are grateful to the Turkish Cypriot people for their hospitality.

President of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Şamil Ayrım also stated that they were together on a historical day that they had missed for a long time.

“In our first meeting, we need to put forward what we can do moving forward. “Our aim is to take the most appropriate steps towards the paths that will ensure the recognition of the TRNC in the coming period,” said Ayrım, adding that they will also discuss the issue of where the 2nd and 3rd meetings will be held.

Saying “We do not have time to waste”, Ayrım drew attention to the importance of friendship groups being in solidarity.

Orhan Erdem, Chairman of the Turkey – TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, stated that they witnessed a very important day.

Erdem stated that forming a friendship group was a dream of theirs and this dream came true.

Erdem said, “Recognition by a parliament is much more important than recognition by a state,” and added that six presidents came together today and tried to carry out an unprecedented work.
