The 28th Alevkayası Plateau Festival, organized by the Black Sea Culture Association, was held this year.

Deputy President, President of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia Metin Fevzioğlu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Trabzon Ortahisar Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu and citizens attended the festival.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Northern Cyprus Black Sea Culture Association President Murat Civelek said that their aim is to promote and keep the Black Sea culture alive.
Stating that the people of the Black Sea region embrace every place they go as their own homeland, Civelek said that one of the best examples of this is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Trabzon Ortahisar Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç paid tribute to those who labored to make Northern Cyprus a Turkish homeland and died martyrs on this path.
“We have proven the power of the Turks in these lands forever. “However, on the other hand, we are fighting intensively in the international arena to consolidate this power,” said Genç, emphasizing that the New York contacts of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Ersin Tatar are of great importance in this respect.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said that the festivals and events held across the country are of great importance in keeping our culture alive and carrying it into the future.
Stating that it is of great value for citizens coming from the Black Sea region, which is an important part of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, to protect and live their own culture, Ataoğlu touched upon Ercan’s Trabzon expeditions.
Ataoğlu pointed out that the necessary demand should be shown in order for the Ercan-Trabzon flight services to continue twice a week and that it is everyone’s duty to do this.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Nicosia, Metin Fevzioğlu, stated that he brought the greetings of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to everyone who attended today’s festival, and said that he was very happy to be at the festival.
Ambassador Fevzioğlu said that the people of the Black Sea are the tip of the spear of the national struggle and emphasized that the people of the Black Sea have undertaken important duties in the national struggle and in protecting the land of the homeland.
Deputy President and President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, also stated that the road connecting from Kyrenia to Anatolia spreads to Trabzon and from there to the Caucasus.
Töre said, “We will protect the lands we own with the pride of being a member of the great Turkish nation, and we will continue to work with firm steps towards serving the Turkish nation.”
After the speeches, the Black Sea people had a nice day, playing horon with the songs of artists from Northern Cyprus and Trabzon.
