Deputy Prime Minister, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Minister, Democratic Party Chairman Fikri Ataoglu, Greek Administration President Nikos Hristodulidis’in reacted to the statements of the TRNC judiciary.

Ataoğlu said in a written statement that Hristodulidis said that his statements using expressions such as “pirate”, “fascist” and “illegal” were unacceptable.

Emphasizing that these discourses are a new indicator of the Greek leadership far from the solution and the provocative attitude of the Greek leadership, Ataoğlu said that the TRNC judiciary decided on the basis of independent and rule of law.

Ataoğlu also stated that Hristodulidis tried to mislead the public by distorting the process and that this approach has damaged peace and confidence between societies and that the effort to discredit the judicial decisions of the Greek side was a disrespect that threatens the security of the people.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot side always acts on the ground of law, Ataoğlu said that the Greek leadership is inconsistent as well as the threat language.

Emphasizing that peace is possible with mutual respect and equality, not with the threat language, Ataoğlu invited the Greek side to progress with common sense and constructive steps.
