The Bi-communal Forensic Excavation Team of the Missing Persons Committee conducted a total of 47 excavations this year, 15 of which were in wells and the remaining 32 in open fields. During the excavations, the remains of 7 casualties were found.
The excavation sites where 7 remains were found were announced as Özhan/Asomatos, Famagusta/Ammochostos, Akova/Gypsou, Alayköy/Gerelakkos (Military Zone), Kyrenia/Kyrenia.
The Turkish Cypriot Member Office of the Missing Persons Committee, in a statement on the question of the TAK, stated that the excavation teams are still at Stylloi/Mutluyaka, Famagusta/Ammochostos, Aydemet/Agios Dometios (Military District), Güngör/Koutsovendis, Lapta/Lapithos and Hulu/Apart from Atlılar/Aloa. The Atlılar/Aloa Mass Grave excavation, where 37 Turkish Cypriots are sought, is being conducted by a bi-communal excavation team.
