Türkiye-Azerbaijan, Türkiye-TRNC and Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Groups started to come to TRNC.

President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, welcomed the Chairman of the Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Cavanşir Feyziyev, and his accompanying delegation at Ercan Airport.

In his statement here, Töre stated that they were very happy to see the Azerbaijani delegation in TRNC and said, “We are Turks and members of the Turkish nation.”

Stating that Turkey, TRNC and Azerbaijan are three states but people of one nation, Töre noted that they are united in sorrow and happiness.
Pointing out the importance of acting together, Töre noted that this unity will send a strong message to the whole world.

In his speech, Cavanşir Feyziyev, Chairman of the TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Azerbaijani National Assembly, stated that they came to the TRNC territory shortly after the Friendship Group was established, and said that this unity contains an important message.

In his speech, Feyziyev emphasized that TRNC is the brother of the independent Turkish States, and reminded that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that “Azerbaijan will stand by the Turkish Cypriot brothers” in the telephone conversation between the Presidents of TRNC and Azerbaijan a few days ago.

Stating that this is the promise of not only Aliyev but also everyone living in Azerbaijan, Feyziyev stated that he believes that there will be much more contacts after the first official visit.

Feyziyev noted that the purpose of the visit was to give a message to the whole world, and that this message conveyed the fact that TRNC is an independent state.
