The National Unity Party Parliamentary Group, together with the Government MPs, held a press conference regarding the latest developments in the General Assembly of the Republic Assembly.
Speaking at the press conference, UBP Group Deputy Chairman Sunat Atun criticized the session discussions at the General Assembly of the Republic Assembly.
Atun described Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Fazilet Özdenefe’s rejection of the request to count the session as the 9th session as “trampling on democracy”.
Atun said, “Ignoring and rejecting our request is a sign of a despotic understanding. He criticized Özdenefe for displaying a management aimed only at his own party, saying, “Not giving room to any other opinion other than one’s own political thought is a despotic approach.”
Stating that CTP is trying to manage the Parliament as a group, Atun also stated that it is clear that Ziya Öztürkler was elected as the President of the Parliament.
