A meeting was held on water supply to ships in Famagusta Municipality.

According to the statement made by the municipality, the meeting was attended by the Turkish Cypriot Summakers Association, Turkish Cypriot Ship Agencies Association and Captain Kemal Yapıcı.

In the meeting held in Bora Atun Meeting Hall in the town hall, the current situation, technical infrastructure and needs related to the water supply system were discussed.

In the opening speech of the meeting, Mayor of Famagusta Süleyman Uluçay said that they started to see the results of the government’s determined stance and said, “We are taking small but reassuring steps. We show that we can solve some problems in our own country. Water is one of them.” he said.

Reminding that Famagusta has been experiencing great thirst in the past, Uluçay thanked the personnel in the water section and pointed out the importance of being one of the municipalities that can give water in a controlled manner with the SCADA system between 18 municipalities.

Uluçay stated that the water treatment plant from the sea, which was established during the period of former president Oktay Kayalp and which was largely solved to the problem of thirst, has come to a scrap state today. he said.
