“The information we received from the State Hydraulic Works Department is that water has started to be supplied to the city, but due to the pressure difference, water reaches the low areas first and then the high areas. According to the information we have obtained from our expert friends, it may take until Monday for the water flow in all houses to return to normal. In 2010, a Sea Water Purification Plant was built by Famagusta Municipality with the build-operate-transfer model, which will be transferred to our municipality in 2025. Later, unfortunately, this facility was left without electricity and became completely dysfunctional as a result of the municipality’s failure to fulfill its obligations. Our duty is to prevent our people from being victimized. “We will take initiatives to put forward all alternatives, including the Sea Water Purification Plant, to ensure uninterrupted water supply in the coming period.”
