With the decision of the Joint Culture Commission between the ministries, a farewell ceremony was held in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education for five years and completed the term of office.

According to the information given from the Ministry of National Education, the ceremony held at Kyrenia Teacher’s House began with the stance of respect and the reading of the National Anthem.

Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Minister of National Education Celile Eren Ökten, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri, the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia, Mithat Tekçam, Bureaucrats and teachers attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başçeri, said that he met the teachers by saying üz Welcome ,, and today he said that he was granted to him.

Ambassador Başçeri stated that the responsibility of the teachers during his term of office is not an ordinary educational activity and said, “As I said five years ago, your task here is a very important, historical mission. he said.

Pointing out that the teachers have made significant contributions for five years in their struggle to keep the culture, language and religion of the Turkish Cypriot people, Başçeri thanked all the teachers and wished success in their future lives.

National Education Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu addressed the teachers and emphasized that the teachers working in Cyprus came to the island not only for information, but for a national task.

Çavuşoğlu, who asked the teachers to explain what he saw here as they knew Cyprus when they came, reminded that the first teachers began to come to Cyprus in 1942.

Çavuşoğlu stated that he stayed in the same apartment as teachers from Türkiye during his teaching years and still met, “You came here like an ambassador, and now we want you to go to the geography of the Republic of Turkey as our ambassador.” he said.

Çavuşoğlu expressed his satisfaction with the professional contributions of the teachers and said, “There are surely Turkish Cypriot people who leave a mark in your life, or you have left their mark in their lives. You will be our biggest advertisement.” He said.

Çavuşoğlu stated that the Turkish Cypriot people have standing upright in the lands where they live in the lands where they live their language, religion and culture for 450 years. he said.

Celile Eren Ökten, Deputy Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey, thanked the teachers who patiently, with perseverance and diligence for five years.

“You opened our way, you supported.” Ökten said that this was a service race and a flag race. Emphasizing that this is a continuation of this, not a farewell, “We put a comma here and we will exist elsewhere to serve humanity and nation.” He said.

Mithat Tekçam, the Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey Nicosia, thanked the teachers and stated that they left a mark with love, patience and understanding not only telling lessons for five years.

Tekçam emphasized that the teachers are one of the most robust stones of the bridge of the hearts established between the TRNC and Turkey. he said.

At the event, Salim Yurdakan, who made the opening speech on behalf of the teachers, said, “We witnessed our children who shared the same fate, speak the same language and have a past, and our children to march to the bright future of our children together.” he said.

Yurdakan, TRNC, the friendships, traditions, culture, historical places, unforgettable homeland defenses and the brotherhood between the two countries, emphasizing that they take with them, “We hope that our roads will never leave, in different geographies, in line with the same principle and target, we will continue to walk in the same way.” He said.

After the speeches, teachers were presented with documents and plaques.
