Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz came to the TRNC this morning in order to make daily contacts.
Within the scope of his visit to Yilmaz, Vice President of Türkiye, participated in the ‘Fiber Transformation Protocol’ signing ceremony between TC – TRNC governments.

The ceremony began with the stance of respect and the reading of the National Anthem.

Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal made the first speech at the ceremony.

In his speech, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that the project is another sign of the strong solidarity between Türkiye and the TRNC.

Stressing that green, digital and social transformation is now at the center of all policies, Yılmaz emphasized that sovereignty is shaped by data security, technological competence and access to information.
Yilmaz pointed out the importance of national digital infrastructures and said that this is an integral part of sovereignty and national security.

Yilmaz emphasized that Türkiye’s national accumulation in this field will provide high -speed and safe internet service to households and workplaces in the TRNC and that the process that will start today will be the beginning of a strategic move that contributes to the digitalization process of the TRNC.

Yilmaz said that e-government services are connected to a strong digital spine, the more the digital state develops, the more healthy the citizen and the state relations will have a healthy ground.
Yilmaz said that the completion of these studies within a year, Yilmaz, a year later, the TRNC will have a different infrastructure, he said.
