Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek made statements to BRT and conveyed his goals on health.
Referring to the problems experienced in the supply of medicines, Minister Dinçyürek stated that there was a shortage of medicines in the country on the day he took office, and that it still continues partially.
Dinçyürek said, “At the first stage, we realized an emergency medicine purchase of 25 million TL over our finished budget, with the support of the Ministry of Finance, plus 20 million TL, plus 5 million TL by channeling it from the Health Fund. All of the medicines we order gradually between 2-3 days and 10 days are in our hands,” he said.
Noting that as of now, they are investigating the issue of additional resources in their contacts with the Ministry of Finance, Dinçyürek emphasized that by creating another resource, they have taken quick steps in the supply of medicines that will meet urgent needs in the short term.
Minister Dinçyürek explained that these are short-term works and that the right drug needs planning is done as medium and long-term works.
Minister of Health Dinçyürek noted that he had contacts with the Motherland of Turkey regarding drugs that could not be supplied.
Pointing out the importance of setting the system correctly, Hakan Dinçyürek said that the work has been accelerated to activate the drug tracking system for this.
Dinçyürek stated that this is a project carried out with the Motherland Turkey and within the scope of the state.
Dinçyürek said, “We will take steps to ensure that drugs are used in the most effective way for the patients who really need them, with a system in which all drugs coming to the island, both in the public and private sectors, will be tracked from the entrance to the island to the end user.”
Minister of Health Dinçyürek also responded to the public debate about the meal fees given to patients staying in state hospitals.
Explaining that they have been working on it and talking to the relevant stakeholders since the day he took office, Dinçyürek said that the meetings they held with the relevant companies were in good faith.
Dinçyürek said, “From the first day, we have taken the issue into consideration and worked on it. At the end of the day, there was an ongoing food purchase, with the Central Tender Commission expiring, and in order not to interrupt the service without being within the scope of any tender. The tender ended in April. The end of the new tender coincided with the end of June. In the gap in between, the relevant companies were already continuing to supply food. Therefore, we were in an effort to terminate the tender as soon as possible so that this gap period could be ended as soon as possible. What did this create? In the tender, the relevant companies took this into account in terms of the reflection of the increase in the minimum wage, which is in the specification, on the food prices. And that the first announced may be 15 percent,” he said.
Noting that a price was determined by taking into account the cost of living announced at the beginning of the tender period, Dinçyürek stated that if the tender had ended in July, there would be no chance of any anomaly in the price.
Noting that they sat down and discussed the issue with the companies, Dinçyürek said that with an additional agreement to be made as a result of the negotiations made within the framework of goodwill, it was agreed that the snacks called “regime 1” would be given completely free of charge until the end of the year.
Minister Dinçyürek also noted that the relevant companies have also agreed with them that they will make a 15 percent discount on the invoice in each invoice period.
