The press day on July 11 was celebrated with a reception by the Turkish Cypriot Journalists Association.
Media Achievement and Incentive Awards and Service Honor Awards were given in memory of the first Turkish newspaper Saded published in 1889 by a Turkish Cypriot Turkish Cypriot.
Speaking at the night, Efdal Keser, President of the Turkish Cypriot Journalists Association, emphasized that pressure on the freedom of press in the world has increased.

Keser also called for politicians and those who see the media as enemies;
