Minister of Finance Ozdemir Berova, fuel prices by evaluating the latest developments made a statement to the public.
Dr. Berova said in his written statement;
“Recent tensions in the Middle East, the war between Iran and Israel has created fluctuations in the global energy markets. This has caused a significant increase in oil prices. Most of the energy needs of our country are met with imported oil and derivatives, as it is known, the current global price increases are reflected in the fuel prices.
Our government is acting with the priority of preserving the welfare of our people and making economic stability sustainable. However, due to this situation in the international markets, fuel prices in fuel prices on June 18 – June 25 in the fuel pricing of gasoline 3 TL 27 cents in a total of 27 cents and a total of 6 TL 35 cents in the Euro diesel increased.
Our government has used price stability fund resources within the framework of legal limits in order not to reflect these prices to the consumer. However, the price of stability fund was insufficient in the face of an increase of 6 TL 35 cents in the Euro Diesel.
As such, our government has been criticized on some segments and social media. Our government has used the Price Stability Fund in the 3 -year period to balance the fluctuations in the market. With the Price Stability Fund, it is meticulously studied in order to maintain economic balances and maintain energy supply security.
During this period, there was an increase of 3 TL in the Republic of Türkiye and 5.5 TL in the Euro Diesel. As of today, gasoline is sold in our country with 39 TL 12 cents, 49 TL 55 cents in the Republic of Türkiye and 59 TL 80 cents pump in Southern Cyprus.
Euro diesel is sold in our country with 80 cents of 80 cents, 49 TL 89 cents in the Republic of Türkiye and 61 TL 60 cents pump in Southern Cyprus.
Our government is using the Price Stability Fund in order to protect the purchasing power of our people and it is seen that fuel prices are much more economical in our country in the comparisons made from both Southern Cyprus and the Republic of Turkey.
As the Government, despite all the economic difficulties, we continue our determination to protect the purchasing power of our people. We will continue to mobilize all our financial vehicles, especially the price stability fund, to protect our citizens. Our priority is to keep the daily living costs of each citizen at reasonable levels. ”
