President of the Assembly accepted the Zorlu Töre Physiotherapists Association.

Şahveren Yücel, President of the Physiotherapists Association, expressed his satisfaction that a Speaker of the Assembly accepted them for the first time since 1979.

Yücel invited Töre to the event they will organize on September 7, due to the World Physiotherapists Day.

Yücel requested support from the Speaker of the Assembly, Töre, whom they know how important he is to public health, on the “Physiotherapists Union Law”, which they expect to be sent to the Assembly.

Explaining the problems caused by the lack of professional laws, Yücel stated that there are approximately 500 physiotherapists in the country, 262 of whom are members.

Yücel emphasized that it is difficult to maintain control due to the lack of professional chambers, and therefore some people risk public health by providing physiotherapy services in rural areas.

President of the Assembly Töre said that he is sure that the Ministry of Health will show the necessary attention to the issue and that they will do their best once the Union Law comes to the parliament.

Töre, who stated that physiotherapists perform a profession with high spirituality and provide great benefits to the public, congratulated all physiotherapists on their day and wished them success in their profession.

After the speeches, Speaker of the Assembly Töre presented the founding President Rauf Denktaş’s framed poem and the flag of the Assembly of the Republic to the association.
