President Ersin Tatar accepted the management of the Turkish Cypriot Disabled Persons Federation, chaired by Derviş Yücetürk, on the occasion of the 10-16 May Disabled Persons Week.

According to the statement made by the Presidency, President Tatar, in his speech at the reception, stated that Ahmet Akdeniz, the Chairman of the Committee on Disabled People in the Presidency, and his wife Sibel Tatar attach great importance to producing permanent solutions for the problems of disabled people and putting forward sustainable projects, and said: “The issue is to make the voices of disabled individuals heard.” “We always support the sensitivities regarding the issue,” he said.

Stating that the Special Education Law has been passed and that the opportunities for the education of children with special needs will be increased with the passage of the regulations, President Tatar said that studies on employment are continuing.

“TRNC, as a social state, has to serve all its citizens with its conscience and means. “Efforts are continuing to enable our disabled citizens to receive services both in public areas and hospitals in order to overcome their problems,” said President Tatar, adding that with the completion of the e-government project, the lives of disabled individuals will be made easier by benefiting from this system.
