President Ersin Tatar received the President of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen’s Association (ATİB) Cemal Yangin and his accompanying delegation. Ufuk Turganer, TRNC Baku Representative, accompanied the guest delegation.

In his speech at the reception, President Ersin Tatar pointed out that the ties between Turkish Cypriots and Azerbaijanis are national, sacred and valuable, and pointed out that Azerbaijan has made important contributions to the TRNC’s being an observer member to the Organization of Turkish States.

Expressing that the Turkish Cypriots are part of the same nation as the Azerbaijanis, President Tatar emphasized that the relations between the two peoples should be improved.

Explaining that Azerbaijan should provide more support for the TRNC to become stronger, President Tatar stated that the TRNC, the southernmost Turkish state, occupies a very important geostrategic and political place in the “Blue Homeland”.

Talking about the unfair embargoes applied to the TRNC, President Tatar, in recent years; He said that the country has reached a good point in tourism, education, service and construction sectors.

Stating that the business people in Azerbaijan can make investments in the TRNC, Presidency Tatar said, “Commercial and economic cooperation can be made. Mutual ties and agreements can be developed,” he said.

ATIB President Cemal Yangin stated that they were in the TRNC for the purpose of negotiations to cooperate between the two countries and expressed their satisfaction for the acceptance.
