On the evening of November 22, 2005, during the UBP’s meeting in Famagusta, both our party and our country were shaken by the news of his health deterioration and his death, which made us all sad.

We still deeply feel the death of my brother and friend Salih Miroğlu, whose political path intersected with my election as a member of parliament from UBP in 1991, and with whom we served our country many times over the years.

Salih Miroğlu, a politician who will always set an example for our future generations with his personality, statesmanship and social aspects, will always take his place among the unforgettable names of TRNC political history with the responsibilities he undertakes for his party and state.
