Prime Minister Ünal Üstel received AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the White Sakalli Council in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı were also present at the reception at the Prime Ministry.
Prime Minister Üstel was happy to see and host Binali Yıldırım, who came to TRNC to give a speech at the opening of the panel titled “TRNC’s Place and Importance in the Turkic World Integration”.
Stating that Yıldırım carried out major projects in TRNC during his time as minister, Üstel explained his contributions especially to the highway network and said that TRNC was Yıldırım’s second home.
In his speech, Binali Yıldırım also stated that “we are at home” and that they will continue to do in TRNC what is done in Turkey.
“Your troubles are our troubles, your joys are our joys. “We will continue to defend your rightful cause everywhere,” said Yıldırım, noting that this was the reason for coming to TRNC, and that they would hold discussions in the panel in which they would defend the rightful cause of TRNC.
Stating that the TRNC’s membership in the organization of Turkish states is a very serious step and development against isolation, Yıldırım said, “This step will allow the TRNC to open up to the Turkish world and express itself.”
Stating that as the Organization of Turkish States White Bearded Delegation, they work with the aim of ensuring the integration of people in member countries and revealing wealth with common values in many fields, Yıldırım said, “Turkey will always stand by the TRNC, give all kinds of support and make sacrifices.”
Yıldırım also conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
