Within the scope of the project covering the connection of Alayköy through Nicosia Northern Road, road construction works are starting at Alayköy Junction. According to a statement made by the Directorate of Highways, the work will begin tomorrow (21 June 2025).

During the studies, significant changes in the traffic flow will be made. The direction of going from Güzelyurt to Nicosia will be closed to traffic, and the vehicles on this route will be directed from Nicosia to Güzelyurt as a departure.

Authorities asked the drivers to pay attention to traffic signs and pointers during the working period and watch slowly and controlled in terms of safety of life and property.
