In the Republic Assembly Economy, Finance, Budget and Planning Committee, the budget of 187 million 250 thousand TL of the Turkish Cypriot Dairy Industry Institution (SÜTEK) affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources was accepted by majority vote.

Following the speeches, the budget of the Turkish Cypriot Dairy Industry Association was voted and accepted by majority vote.

Speaking about the SÜTEK budget, Republican Turkish Party Deputy Fide Kürşat asked questions about the rate at which the milk premium per liter would be increased, how the revenues were calculated and the daily amount of milk.

Kürşat asked why severance pay was reset to zero in 2025 in the budget, asked questions about the framework in which the regulations regarding the staff would be made, and reminded that staff that are not included in the law cannot be employed.

While Kürşat asked how an increase of more than 100 percent could occur in the SÜTEK budget and on what predictions it was based, SÜTEK Financial Advisor Ahmet Satan answered the question and said that this was related to the increase in SÜTEK premiums.

Arguing that the budget figures have no scientific basis, Kürşat said that if the budget is passed with these figures, the institution will go bankrupt, and the budget should not be passed in this way. He claimed that it should have been kept waiting.

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş also stated that the milk of small cattle is collected steadily. He stated that there has been an increase for this reason and cited the figures regarding milk production.

Minister Sergeant stated that the figures will be reviewed.

Speaking again, Fide Kürşat said that the positions to be opened should be brought to the committee today, but this has not been done and they do not know how to make an arrangement.

SÜTEK Financial Advisor Ahmet Satan gave information by stating that the figures in income and expenses have changed.

The committee then proceeded to discuss the budget of the Soil Products Institution, after the approval of the Turkish Cypriot Dairy Industry Corporation budget.
