National Unity Party (UBP) Deputy Hasan Taçoy reacted to the attack on İbrahimağa Köprülü Mosque in Limassol.

Condemning the attack with his statement, Taçoy said that those responsible should be found as soon as possible and given the punishment they deserve.

“I meet the heinous attack on the Limassol İbrahimağa Köprülü Mosque in Southern Cyprus with great sadness and at the same time reaction. Unfortunately, attacks against our holy places of worship continue systematically,” Taçoy said, adding, “If the Greek Cypriot administration is really against such attacks, it is responsible for catching those responsible for the latest incident as soon as possible and giving the punishment they deserve.”

Taçoy continued:

“It should not be forgotten that the attack on the holy places of worship of people who believe in Allah is a serious disrespect not only to one religion but also to all other religions in the world. It is never acceptable. It is our most natural right to expect the care and protection shown for holy places belonging to different religions, both in our country and in all other Muslim countries of the world, for our sacred places belonging to our own religion in other countries. While I strongly condemn the attack on our mosque, I invite all concerned to do their part to put an end to such incidents.”
