Murat Doganay, President of the Eurasian Strategic Research Platform, in his speech at the conference, said that the Blue Homeland Doctrine completed each other in the geopolitical context of the Blue Vatan Castle with the “Double -State Solution Model”.

Stating that Cyprus is a geopolitical center in the center of the Eastern Mediterranean, Doganay said that international competition on energy resources carried Türkiye’s determination to protect maritime jurisdiction to a multidimensional and strategic ground. Doganay noted that the Blue Vatan is not only a map, but also the vision of security, sovereignty and sustainable future, one of the most sensitive areas of this vision is Cyprus, he said.

Doğanay said that approximately 122 trillion cubic fit natural gas reserves in the sea jurisdiction of Türkiye in the Eastern Mediterranean have a strategic value in terms of both Türkiye’s energy independence and supply security of Europe. Doganay emphasized that the cost of the gas extracted from the south of Cyprus to Europe has reached 11 dollars by liquefying and that this cost fell to approximately $ 6 when it was delivered through the pipeline via Turkey.
