Azerbaijani painter and designer Nigar Helmi Abbasbeyli also stated that she found it meaningful to open her own exhibition on the 41st anniversary of the founding of the TRNC.

Congratulating everyone who contributed, especially DİMED President Oya Ertuğruloğlu, Abbasbeyli reminded that November was very special not only for the TRNC but also for them, and that they experienced victory in the second Karabakh war 4 years ago with the great efforts of the Azerbaijani army.

Explaining that he prepared the exhibition titled “Karabakh Heritage” in a short period of 11 months, Abbasbeyli said that he tried to reflect the events he witnessed in the region for 30 years.

Reminding that Azerbaijan’s leader Haydar Aliyev called Karabakh “the pearl of Azerbaijan”, Abbasbeyli said that the region is becoming more beautiful.

Stating that he wanted to convey the barbarism in Karabakh, which was under Armenian occupation for 30 years, on canvas in his exhibition, Abbasbeyli emphasized that his collection consists of 20 paintings and his works are exhibited all over the world.

Noting that as an Azerbaijani, he aims to introduce his nation with his art and show people the truth, Abbasbeyli said that one side should not destroy the cultural heritage of the other side in wars. Abbasbeyli said, “The way for future generations to keep their country, culture and land alive is through history.”
