President Ersin Tatar made a statement on the anniversary of the Manzikert Victory.

In the Tatar statement;

“We are on the 952nd anniversary of the victory of the Great Seljuk Sultan Alparslan against the Byzantine Emperor Romenos Diogenes in 1071 in the Malazgirt plain. With this epic victory, which is considered to be one of the turning points in Turkish history, which has great political and historical importance, the Turks entered Anatolia, which they have known as their homeland for centuries, never to leave again.
With the Battle of Manzikert, in which the foundation of the Turks’ settlement in Anatolia was laid, the Turkization and Islamization process of Anatolia accelerated, and the Turks were settled in Anatolia in a radical way.

The victory of Manzikert, which symbolized the beginning of the Turks becoming an effective power in the Middle East and the Balkans, also triggered the rise of the Seljuk Empire, and then laid the groundwork for the establishment of many Turkish principalities and states in Anatolia. As a result, Turks have had political and cultural influence in the Middle East and the Balkans for many years.

As the descendants of a race that symbolized the unity and solidarity of the Turkish nation in its history, created a common identity and historical awareness among the Turks, made Anatolia a Turkish homeland on the anniversary of the Manzikert Victory, which is one of the sources of pride of the Turkish nation, and entrusted these lands to us for nearly a thousand years, the Turkish world I reiterate that, as its representatives in the Eastern Mediterranean, we will continue to be worthy of our ancestors by always preserving our spiritual consciousness and protecting our roots, our history, our state and the moral values ​​entrusted to us under all circumstances.
