Republican Turkish Party Chairman Tufan Erhürman evaluated the events in the Parliament in a television program he attended.
According to the statement made by CTP, he argued that it is clearly obvious who is not running the Parliament.
Arguing that the place where the crisis broke out was not the Parliament but the government, Erhürman stated that the structure that said ‘I have the support of 29 MPs’ could not find the number of 26 in 15 rounds.
Stating that the problems of the Turkish Cypriot people continue to grow, Erhürman expressed the opinion that the only solution is early elections.
Erhürman said, “You will not declare an unelected person as president so that this Parliament can work. Will CTP accept an unelected person as the Speaker of the Parliament? There is nothing to discuss. “We say dialogue will solve this issue,” he said.
Erhürman stated that essentially running the Parliament means running it in accordance with the law.
“It is clear who is not running the parliament right now.” Speaking as follows, Erhürman argued that there was “chaos not in the Parliament, but within the government”, that 15 rounds of 26 numbers could not be found, and the council did not meet.
Evaluating the discussions about the 8th or 9th round, Erhürman said, “They opened and closed a session under the chairmanship of Ziya Bey. Mr. Ziya is not the Speaker of the Parliament, so that session is not counted as a session. There is nothing to discuss. “There has never been such a session in the legal world,” he said.
