Ziya Öztürkler, President of the Assembly of the Republic, opened the exhibition of 4th International Güzelyurt Art Meeting.
Öztürkler, who made a speech at the opening of Güzelyurt Exhibition Hall, stated that the participation of artists from many countries in the event was pleasing and emphasized that the universal language of art established a bridge among societies.

However, it is sad that the artists expected from some countries could not participate in various reasons.

“While imagining a world dominated by art, beauty, human rights and law, unfortunately we are going through a period in which the rules of power and strong today are decisive, Öz said Öztürkler, some countries can attack other countries as they wish and even carried out massacres, he said.

Öztürkler drew attention to the importance of gathering in international art activities instead of such negativities.
Öztürkler stated that the value given to art should be shown not only with the word but also by actions, congratulated the Mayor of Güzelyurt for exemplary stance in this sense and said that the municipality’s support to art and artists were brought together with the public.
Ziya Öztürkler, who called on the artists in the continuation of his speech, said that they started to equip the walls of the new campus of the Republican Assembly with the works of Turkish Cypriot artists.
Öztürkler, with the works carried out for the last two weeks, the new Parliamentary campus on the walls of the Cypriot artists began to include the works: “In this field, our place is now wider, we embrace the works and exhibit. I invite you to be included in this process and to bring your works to Parliament,” he said.
Öztürkler emphasized the unifying power of art and thanked all the artists and those who contributed to the organization by wishing the event to be beneficial.
