Celal Bayar, President of the Cyprus TMT Mujahideen Association, stated that August 1 was the anniversary of the three golden incidents in the Turkish Cypriot history and celebrated the August 1 Social Resistance Day.

In his message, Bayar said that Cyprus was given 80 thousand martyrs on August 1, 1571 and conquered and made a Turkish homeland.

Stating that August 1 was the 454th anniversary of this challenging conquest, Bayar said that Cyprus remained under Turkish rule for 307 years and that he was temporarily rented to England in 1878 to get the British Empire support in 1877 Ottoman Russian war.

“However, when the Ottoman Empire was with Germany in the First World War, England annexed Cyprus in 1914,” Bayar said.

Bayar pointed out that another event that is very important in the history of the Turkish Cypriot struggle and shaping the future was the establishment of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) on August 1, 1958, and emphasized that TMT was established in the whole island three years after the EOKA terrorist organization and ensured the protection of the Turkish presence in Cyprus.

Celal Bayar stated that the Turkish Cypriots in the most difficult conditions after the bloody Christmas of TMT, as a national liberation organization, did not pass the dreams of Enosis as the National Liberation Organization.
