Turkish Union Solidarity Association President Prof. Dr. Güven Arıklı participated in the live broadcast of Azerbaijan State Television (AZ TV) and made important statements about the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Arıklı emphasized that the Turkish world should be in unity and solidarity and touched upon the problems caused by proxy wars and international double standards in the region. He also stated that the Organization of Turkish States played an important role in this process.

While Arıklı emphasized the importance of the Republic of Türkiye bringing peace to Cyprus in 1974, he stated that the isolation policies applied to the TRNC should end. Drawing attention to the strong relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Arıklı said that the high-level visits to be held in April 2024 will further strengthen this friendship.

Prof. Dr. Arıklı stated that the Turkish world could make a stronger voice in the international arena by acting together and said, “We are happy to be together and we should continue this solidarity in the future.”

Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Cavanşir Feyziyev, also stated in the program that the TRNC should be supported by the states in Central Asia and that the EU was unfair to the TRNC by creating double standards.
