Türkiye İş Bankası TRNC Country Directorate laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Türkiye İş Bankası.

The ceremony held to mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Türkiye İş Bankası was attended by Türkiye İş Bankası TRNC Country Manager Serhan Akşahin, country directorate managers, branch managers and bank employees.

According to the statement made by the bank, TRNC Country Manager Serhan Akşahin, who spoke at the ceremony, noted that they were excited and happy to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the bank, which pioneered the establishment and strengthening of the national economy and was the symbol of our economic independence, in the difficult conditions of the period when the foundations of the Republic of Turkey were laid.

Akşahin stated that the bank has duly fulfilled its leading role in the development of the country’s economy without compromising its founding principles throughout its 100-year journey and has earned the respect and reputation of every individual in society, and continued as follows:

In those difficult years when the need for a bank with national capital emerged for a purpose similar to the foundation mission in Turkey, we continue to fulfill the role we assumed with a high sense of responsibility with the same determination. We are on the verge of celebrating our 70th anniversary in these lands where we have been present since February 1955.
