The Media Ethics Committee continues the signature renewal process for the expansion and support of the updated version of the Internet Journalism Declaration prepared in order to strengthen ethics, principles and standards in digital media.

According to the statement made by the Media Ethics Committee, the members of the Board visited Akol Global, which includes Vatan Newspaper, Cyprus Newspaper, Cyprus TV, Cyprus FM, Kanal T and Independent Newspaper. During the visits, the media representatives signed by supporting the declaration.

Vatan Newspaper Editor -in -Chief Mehmet Kasımoğlu, Cyprus Newspaper and Television Editor -in -Chief Aytuğ Türkkan, Kanal T and Independent Newspaper Editor -in -Chief Rasıh Reşat, the updated declaration has signed. In addition, the editor -in -chief Mete Tümerkan, news director of Akol Global, Selda İç, and the newspaper owner Erten Kasımoğlu were present during the visit of Cyprus Media Group.

Media Ethics Committee Chairman Aysu Basri Akter, said in a statement during the visits, media organizations are pleased with the sensitivity of ethical principles, he said. Stating that the declaration against the ethical problems brought about by developing technology was made in accordance with the conditions of the day, Akter reminded that a workshop was organized with the participation of parties and academic circles related to this purpose.

Emphasizing that they are determined to work in cooperation with media organizations, Akter stated that the visits would continue and that the declaration could be approved through digital signature and invited all media representatives to participate in this process.
