Erdinç Gündüz, one of the pioneers of the Turkish Cypriot music, the founders of the Sıla-4 group and the veterans of the Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation (BRTK), lost his life. The death of Gündüz created deep sorrow in the Cyprus Art and Media community.

Gündüz, who left a mark on both his music and cultural contributions throughout his art life, gave direction to Turkish Cypriot music with his Sıla-4 group, which was one of the founders of the 1970s. At the same time, he served for many years within the BRTK and provided important services in the field of publishing.

Gündüz, in his book titled 3 – Bayraklı Years, in 1964, the first registration experiences on the Flag Radio and the letters of request from the audience in 1964 revealed the deep connection with BRT.

BRTK Director Meryem Özkurt, in the condolence message published by Gündüz about the death of Gündüz, “We are experiencing the deep sorrow of losing Erdinç Gündüz.
