Yeşiltepe Ponds are being rehabilitated. It is aimed to complete the improvement work to be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel (LAÇ) Municipality in 3 weeks.
According to the information given by the Ministry, Dursun Oğuz, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, examined the work in Yeşiltepe Ponds in the Alsancak region on site.
During the investigation, Oğuz was accompanied by Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel (LAÇ) Mayor Fırat Ataser, Water Works Department Manager Tarkan Çeki, Department engineer Çiğdem Akdoğan, one of the regional headmen, Ilgaz Headman Yalçın Kaya and Malatya-İncesu headman Zehra Beydola.
Minister Oğuz stated that many ponds were rehabilitated and brought to the regions last year and this year.
Stating that water is gaining more and more importance in the world, Oğuz pointed out the contribution of ponds to keeping rainwater and enriching underground resources.
Emphasizing that the work gained momentum with the cooperation of Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel Municipality, Minister Oğuz stated that their aim is to complete the breeding work before winter comes.
According to the Ministry’s statement, no improvement work has been carried out in Yeşiltepe Ponds since 2012.
