BAU-Cyprus and Martyrs’ Families Association Sign Cooperation Protocol
A cooperation protocol has been established between the Martyrs’ Families and Disabled Veterans Association and Bahçeşehir Cyprus University. The agreement aims to honor the memory of the martyrs and disabled veterans who fought for the Turkish Cypriot people and ensure that their names are remembered by future generations.
As part of the protocol, scholarships will be granted to families of martyrs and disabled veterans who are citizens of the TRNC and have completed high school. Bahçeşehir Cyprus University will provide a 4-year scholarship to two TRNC citizen students who have completed high school. Additionally, for programs requiring English preparatory education, a 100 percent tuition scholarship will cover an extra year of preparatory classes and a master’s degree.
The protocol also includes plans for the organization of events such as panels, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and trainings to further commemorate the sacrifices made by the martyrs and disabled veterans. The agreement was signed by the university rector, Prof. Dr. Gürsel Benan, on behalf of Bahçeşehir Cyprus University, and Mehmet Toycan, Chairman of the Martyrs’ Families and Disabled Veterans Association.
This collaboration between the university and the association is a step towards preserving the legacy of those who have made significant contributions to the Turkish Cypriot community and ensuring that their sacrifices are never forgotten.
