Bayraktar Kızılelma passes test with flying colors

Baykar’s Bayraktar Kızılelma Successfully Completes Test Flight
Baykar has announced that the testing process of the Bayraktar Kızılelma is progressing according to schedule. The domestically developed Bayraktar Kızılelma, successfully passed the Aerodynamic System Definition Test recently.
The production prototype TC-OZB3, with the tail number PT3, took off from the Akıncı Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu district of Tekirdağ and completed its aerodynamic system identification activities during the test flight.
Significant changes were made to the production prototype of Bayraktar Kızılelma based on experiences from the first prototypes. Structural improvements and enhancements in Avionic architecture were made. Additionally, integration with an art-burning engine alternative was successfully completed.
With its new powerful engine, the Bayraktar Kızılelma will be able to approach the speed of sound and perform high-speed maneuvers due to aerodynamic improvements. Its AESA radar will provide high situational awareness for performing challenging tasks.
The Bayraktar Kızılelma project, initiated with 100 percent of Baykar’s own capital in 2021, has achieved remarkable milestones. The aircraft was released from the production line on November 14, 2022, and conducted its first flight on December 14, 2022, at the Akıncı Flight Training and Test Center.
During Teknofest 2023, Bayraktar Kızılelma made history with its flights. Forming flights with Bayraktar Akıncı Tiha, F-16 War Jeti Soloturk, and F-5 jet planes with Turkish stars, the aircraft performed spectacular aerial displays in the skies of Istanbul.
Baykar’s success in the unmanned aerial vehicle market has been significant, with 83 percent of its revenues coming from exports since 2003. In 2023, Baykar achieved $1.8 billion in exports, placing the company among the top 10 exporters in Türkiye.
Continuing its global success in 2024, Baykar achieved 90 percent of its income from exports, totaling $1.8 billion in exports. The company has been recognized as the export leader in the defense and aviation sector by the Defense Industry Presidency and Türkiye Exporters Assembly.
Baykar’s export dominance has positioned Türkiye at the forefront of the global SİHA export market. With export agreements signed with 34 countries for Bayraktar TB2 SİHA and 11 countries for Bayraktar Akıncı Tiha, Baykar remains a key player in the unmanned aircraft industry.
