
Bayraktar TB3 Test Success

Bayraktar TB3 SİHA, the domestically and uniquely developed unmanned combat aerial vehicle by Baykar, has successfully completed its 18th flight test. This milestone marks a significant achievement for Turkey’s defense industry, as the Bayraktar TB3 continues to demonstrate its cutting-edge technology and capabilities.
Announcing the successful flight test on social media, Baykar Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk Bayraktar shared the exciting news and highlighted the high altitude system performance test conducted as part of the trial. The Chairman’s post emphasized the importance of national technology and innovation in Turkey’s defense sector.
The Bayraktar TB3 SİHA made its debut at TEKNOFEST Istanbul, where it was displayed to the public for the first time. Following its initial appearance, the aircraft was also showcased at TEKNOFEST events in Ankara and Izmir, allowing citizens to witness the groundbreaking technology developed by Baykar.
A significant moment was the display of the Bayraktar TB3 and Turkey’s first unmanned combat aircraft, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, on the flight deck of TCG Anadolu, the world’s first SİHA ship. This exhibit, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Republic, provided an opportunity for hundreds of thousands of citizens to visit and witness the advanced capabilities of these aircraft.
Looking ahead, Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar announced plans to conduct the first flight test of the Bayraktar TB3 from the TCG Anadolu ship in 2024. This milestone will demonstrate the aircraft’s unique ability to operate from short-runway ships, further enhancing Turkey’s unmanned aerial vehicle capabilities.
Importantly, the Bayraktar TB3 UCAV will have a beyond-line-of-sight communication capability, enabling it to be controlled from long distances. This feature will significantly bolster Turkey’s defense capabilities, allowing the aircraft to perform reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, and attack missions with smart munitions from overseas targets.
In addition to its technological advancements, Baykar has achieved notable success in export agreements for its unmanned aerial vehicles. The company has secured export deals with 33 countries, demonstrating the global demand and recognition of Turkish defense technology.
