Bayraktar TB3 Test Successfully Completed
Turkey’s leading defense and technology company, Baykar, has announced the successful completion of the 15th test flight of the Bayraktar TB3 SİHA. This unmanned combat aircraft, developed solely by Baykar, was exhibited for the first time at TEKNOFEST Istanbul and has already garnered significant interest.
The Bayraktar TB3 SİHA was showcased publicly at TEKNOFEST Istanbul and later at events in Ankara and Izmir. Additionally, the aircraft, along with Turkey’s first unmanned combat aircraft Bayraktar KIZILELMA, was also displayed on the flight deck of TCG Anadolu, the world’s first SİHA ship, during the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the Republic. Hundreds of thousands of citizens visited these exhibits, underscoring the significance and popularity of these technological achievements.
In 2024, Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar announced plans to commence tests for the Bayraktar TB3 on the TCG Anadolu ship, which will make it the first armed unmanned aerial vehicle in the world capable of taking off and landing from short-runway ships. This advancement is expected to have far-reaching implications for the effectiveness of unmanned aerial vehicles in this class.
Baykar’s efforts have not gone unnoticed on the global stage – the company has secured export agreements with 33 countries, making it a prominent player in the defense and aerospace industry. Baykar has achieved an impressive 99.3% export rate in contracts signed in 2022, resulting in exports totaling 1.2 billion dollars.
These latest developments underscore Turkey’s increasing influence and innovation in the field of defense and technology, signaling a promising future for the country in these critical areas.
