Beware of False Job Advertisements in Istanbul’s Prostitution Trap

17-year-old ES, who applied to the police in Istanbul, recently made a disturbing complaint. He stated that he had responded to a job advertisement seen online, only to find himself coerced into prostitution by the person he met for the job interview.
Upon receiving this report, the Morality Bureau Chief launched an investigation into the matter. Teams were sent to the house of the suspect, Masuk A., in Bagcilar, where he was promptly detained.
It was revealed that the suspect, Masuk A., posed as a builder business person on social media, offering job opportunities to unsuspecting individuals. Under the guise of hiring a “close assistant,” he would lure women into negotiations, promising high earnings alongside wealthy businessmen. However, some of these women were reportedly deceived and forced into prostitution against their will.
Another individual, SC (26), also came forward with a similar complaint against Masuk A. Despite denying the accusations when questioned by the police, Masuk A. was ultimately charged with child sexual abuse and promoting prostitution. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
This alarming case serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by predators who exploit vulnerable individuals seeking employment opportunities. It also highlights the importance of thorough background checks and caution when responding to online job listings. The authorities are actively pursuing justice for the victims of this heinous crime.
