Bike Event in Kazakhstan’s Capital Commemorates 25th Anniversary
Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, recently hosted a bicycle parade to commemorate its upcoming 25th anniversary. Over 400 participants took part in the cycling rally, covering a distance of 25 kilometers. The event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage residents to engage in sports, specifically cycling.
The rally began in Koschi, a village near Astana, and ended in the Green Belt Park, passing through the Urker settlement. Participants of all ages, including amateurs and enthusiasts, joined the bike race. Prominent guests such as Deputy Akim (Mayor) of Astana Yerlan Bekmurzayev, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Ilyas Ospanov, and Chairman of the International Information Committee at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Jean Galiev were also in attendance.
Deputy Mayor Yerlan Bekmurzayev congratulated the capital on this significant milestone, expressing his belief that the bike rally has uplifted the spirits of the participants. He emphasized that similar events promoting various sports, including swimming and running, will continue to take place in the future.
One participant, 62-year-old Yeleusuz Pardabai, shared his experience and encouraged others to engage in daily sports activities. Pardabai mentioned how participating in the cycling race made him forget about his age and invited everyone to pursue physical activities for better health.
As part of the festivities, a raffle was organized for cyclists who completed the race, with valuable prizes being awarded to lucky winners. A 13-year-old participant named Nazar expressed the importance of such events for young people and was thrilled to win a bicycle in the raffle.
In addition to the bike race, Astana is organizing various cultural and sporting events to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Since becoming the capital in 1998, Astana has been rapidly developing and thriving.
