Binali Yıldırım: Turkey’s Crucial Role in Palestine
Former Prime Minister and former AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım made a statement regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the launch ceremony of the documentary ‘250 Years of Bees’ at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The ceremony, held at the ITU Ayazağa Campus, was organized to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the university. The event was attended by Yıldırım, ITU Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, as well as rectors from other universities, academicians, business professionals, and individuals from the scientific community.
In his opening speech, Yıldırım emphasized the significant role of ITU in the history of the Republic of Turkey and reminisced about his student days at the university. He also addressed the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, highlighting its importance and the impact it has on the region.
Yıldırım stated, “This is not a war, where laws and proportionate force are observed. Unfortunately, innocent civilians, including women, babies, and children, are being targeted and destroyed by bombs and missiles. The entire world remains a spectator to this tragedy. We have now reached a point where massacres and brutality mark the beginning of a new evil project in the Middle East. Imperial states aim to turn the entire region into a battlefield, extending beyond Palestine and Israel. Conditions are being created to transform the region, and Turkey holds a crucial responsibility in this regard.”
Following Yıldırım’s speech, the documentary ‘250 Years of Bees’ was screened, and the ceremony concluded.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues to draw international attention and concern as discussions persist on finding a peaceful resolution to the issue.
