
BIST 100 Index Opens Higher

The Borsa Istanbul started the day on a positive note as the BIST 100 index increased by 14.96 points and 0.15 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 10,012.62 points.
While the banking index saw a 0.23 percent increase in value, the holding index experienced a slight decrease of 0.02 percent. Among the sector indices, informatics was the biggest gainer with a 0.79 percent increase, while sports was the biggest loser with a 0.70 percent decrease.
Yesterday, the BIST 100 index at the Borsa Istanbul had followed a sell-off trend, finishing the day at 9,997.66 points, losing 1.26 percent of its value.
Global markets are currently experiencing a mixed course as investors await the monetary policy decisions of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) which are set to be announced tomorrow. Uncertainties regarding inflation have been raised by recent macroeconomic data announced worldwide, leading to questions about future steps to be taken.
Analysts are keeping an eye on various economic indicators today, including the housing price index and the private sector’s loan debt from abroad in Turkey, as well as the ZEW economic confidence index in Germany and the Eurozone. Additionally, industrial production, retail sales, and capacity utilization rate data in the USA will also be closely monitored. From a technical perspective, analysts have identified 10,100 and 10,150 points as resistance levels for the BIST 100 index, while 10,000 and 9,900 points are considered support levels.
