Bitlis Trembles: Naci Görür Issues Earthquake Warning

Earthquake Expert and Earth Scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür has issued a warning following a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in the village of Yumrukaya in the Tatvan district. Although the earthquake did not result in any injuries or loss of life, Prof. Dr. Görür emphasized the importance of monitoring the Bitlis-Zagros line and its surroundings in the coming days.
In a statement on social media, Prof. Dr. Görür mentioned that the recent earthquake may be a result of the northward movement of the Arabian plate following previous seismic activities. He stated, “We had previously said that we were expecting an earthquake there because the Arabian plate was thrown northwards during the February 6 earthquakes and put pressure on the Bitlis-Zagros line and the south of Lake Van. Pay attention to the Bitlis-Zagros line and its surroundings these days.”
It is crucial for residents in the region to be aware of the potential risks and stay informed about any updates regarding seismic activities. Keeping a close eye on the Bitlis-Zagros line can help minimize the impact of future earthquakes and ensure the safety of the community. Stay safe and prepared during these uncertain times.
