Boeing’s Starliner Shuttle Successfully Docks at International Space Station
The US-based aviation company Boeing’s Starliner shuttle recently made headlines as it reached the International Space Station (ISS) after a successful crewed launch. The shuttle was launched in partnership with the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas-V rocket from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA.
After a flight of approximately 27 hours, Starliner was able to dock with the ISS despite facing some challenges along the way. A helium leak was detected during the journey, causing 4 out of its 28 thrusters to fail. However, astronauts Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore and Sunita ‘Suni’ Williams were quick to respond and managed to restart 3 of the broken thrusters.
Although they missed the first opportunity to dock with the ISS, Wilmore and Williams were warmly welcomed by 4 American astronauts and 3 Russian cosmonauts upon their arrival.
