The mystery surrounding the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, nine years ago, resurfaced as an Australian fisherman recently made a bombshell claim. 77-year-old retired Australian fisherman Kit Olver spoke to journalists and shared an important detail that he thinks relates to the accident of the missing plane.
Olver recalled the day when a piece of a large aircraft was caught in his net while fishing off the southeastern coast of Australia months after the incident. Although he tried to bring it to the surface, the net was ripped apart due to the heavy and strange object, which was too big for them to handle. Olver was certain that the white piece was either a wing or a large part of a commercial airliner, as it was not from a military jet or a small plane. He informed the authorities about the piece but it was dismissed as an object from a container that had gone missing in the area.
After the incident, Olver tried to contact the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and Ocean Infinity, a company that conducted searches for the missing plane, but received no response. Olver expressed his frustration, stating that after 35 years of trawling experience, he was certain the object was an airplane wing, claiming the incident was an event that should have been left in the past.
Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, alongside 239 passengers during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The plane, which has still not been found despite the most comprehensive search at sea, remains one of the most profound mysteries in aviation history. Numerous searches, costing millions of dollars, yielded no results, and the wreckage of MH370 is yet to be discovered. The missing plane became one of the most mysterious events in aviation history and continues to raise questions and theories worldwide.
