Border Earthquake: 5.2 Magnitude Tremor Felt in Turkey
A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck the Hamah region of Syria, causing tremors felt in neighboring Turkey. The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 7.16 kilometers, rattled cities such as Hatay, Gaziantep, and Kilis.
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), no casualties or extensive material damage have been reported so far. However, residents who felt the earthquake quickly evacuated their homes and took to the streets in fear.
Interestingly, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 struck the same region just three minutes after the initial tremor. This event has raised concerns among residents and officials about the seismic activity in the area.
