Brazilian Authorities’ Decision to Investigate Black Box After Azerbaijani Plane Crash Praises by Tokayev
ASTANA – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the recent Azerbaijani airline plane crash near Aktau in a significant interview with the Ana Tili national newspaper on Jan. 3.
During the interview, President Tokayev highlighted the establishment of a government commission to investigate the causes of the tragic plane crash. He mentioned that 17 international experts, including representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), have been invited to participate in the investigation. The black boxes from the aircraft have been sent to Brazil for decoding, a decision made to ensure an impartial and objective inquiry.
President Tokayev emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation during a meeting in Astana on Dec. 28. He expressed his condolences for the 38 lives lost in the crash, including six citizens of Kazakhstan, and commended the swift response and professionalism displayed by rescuers, doctors, and police officers. Local volunteers and employees of the Mangistau Regional Electric Grid Company also played a crucial role in assisting with rescue efforts.
The solidarity and compassion shown by the Kazakh people did not go unnoticed, as many individuals donated blood to support the victims. President Tokayev honored citizens for their heroism and civic duty in helping rescue passengers from the downed aircraft.
In a separate interview with Az.TV, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev praised the solidarity and compassion demonstrated by the Kazakh citizens following the tragic plane crash. The collaborative efforts of both nations in response to the incident reflect a spirit of unity and support during challenging times.
