Britain Expresses Concern Over Attacks in West Bank Following Weapon Supply to Israel
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer addressed questions on current issues during the weekly “Questions to the Prime Minister” session in Parliament. One particularly pressing issue discussed was the recent attacks by the Israeli army on the city of Jenin and a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, along with raids in the region.
Independent MP Iqbal Mohamed raised concerns about the attacks and asked Prime Minister Starmer about the steps the British government is taking to protect Palestinians, including healthcare workers, and prevent further atrocities in the West Bank. Starmer responded by expressing deep concern for the situation and reassured that efforts are being made to alleviate the crisis.
The attacks by the Israeli army resulted in the loss of 10 Palestinian lives and left 40 others injured. Additionally, 25 individuals, including former detainees, were detained during the raids in the West Bank.
The escalating violence in the region highlights the urgent need for international action to address the human rights violations and protect the vulnerable communities in the West Bank.
