
BRTK Announces Implementation of Necessary Measures

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Northern Cyprus has issued a statement warning the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus about potential restrictions on the passage of transporters registered in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
In the statement, the ministry expressed concerns over information they received regarding regulations that could hinder the movement of transporters from Northern Cyprus to Southern Cyprus. The ministry assured that it has been actively monitoring the situation and consulting with sector representatives.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport emphasized that it will take necessary measures within the principles of reciprocity if the Greek Cypriot Administration proceeds with any actions that restrict the passage of Northern Cyprus transporters.
The announcement comes as a preemptive warning to the Greek Cypriot Administration, signaling the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ commitment to protecting the rights of its transporters and ensuring equal treatment in cross-border transportation.
The ministry’s proactive stance aims to maintain a fair and open passage for transporters registered in Northern Cyprus, and it underscores the importance of reciprocity in governing cross-border transportation policies between the two administrations.
